The inspiration for this painting came from photos i had taken when i was visiting my cousins ranch in Colorado, combined with photos taken on some night walks around Portland, Oregon. For me, the natural landscape during the daytime above, contrasted with the cityscape at night below, is all about the dualistic nature of life and how all things are connected and made real by their relation to the other. Natural vs manmade, light vs dark, positive vs negative : All things in balance. :)
